OUR PURPOSE

offMLS is a platform for licensed real estate brokers to list properties prior to or in lieu of listing them on the MLS, or to post want ads and find non-MLS properties that may be a perfect fit for their clients.

We aim to broaden the pre- and non-MLS marketplace, making it more efficient by opening membership to all agents regardless of production volume or brokerage affiliation. This will maximize value for all buyers and sellers.

Bob Safranski // FOUNDER
        

Bob has been a licensed real estate broker and top producer in Chicago since 2002. He currently owns and manages the Saffron Realty office of @properties. Growing up with a father in corporate technology and computer sales, he has been obsessed with real estate technology and entrepreneurial ventures since opening the doors of his own brokerage company in 2005. offMLS was conceived as a direct result of his experiences with his clients over the years. Those experiences inspired sleepless nights thinking about new ways to use technology to make the buying and selling of real estate as interesting, productive and profitable as possible for his clients.

Michael Bond // DEVELOPER
            

Michael has been coding for the web and mobile for the last 20 years, with brief breaks to study design, start a record label, write travel guides, and tour the country in an indie rock band. He’s worked with everyone from Harley-Davidson to Alzheimer’s researchers, with a focus on design solutions to tech problems — most recently, a series of Chicago app startups including offMLS. He currently lives in Santiago, Chile with his wife and dog.

Maggie Laubscher // BRAND VOICE
            

Maggie brings 10 years of editorial experience to offMLS, with an emphasis on marketing and travel. She offers a unique mix of creativity and operations expertise and has extensive experience in crafting brand voice. As an ASME-nominated writer and editor, Maggie’s clients have included Northwestern University, Kid & Coe, City Picks Group and Smart Money Magazine, among others. When she’s not consulting with brands she’s passionate about (like offMLS!), she’s exploring Chicago, where she lives with her husband and two kids. She spends her free time reading, hustling, playing superheroes and fixing up her (really) old brick house.

Lauren Kreps // MARKETING & USER ENGAGEMENT
        

With dueling passions for words and tech, Lauren contributes her expertise in digital marketing — including website creation, targeted email campaigns, and more — to offMLS. Previously, Lauren optimized email and content marketing at legal startup Shake, analyzed new user engagement for Change.org, and worked for startups and social enterprises in Hong Kong. Lauren graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Pennsylvania and currently attends NYU School of Law, where she continues to pursue her interests in entrepreneurship and law.

Daniel Padgett

Daniel is a service designer and customer experience strategist who has been creating self-service and customer service solutions for Fortune 500 companies for the last 15 years. Three years ago, he and his family turned to Bob Safranski for help when they were looking to buy their first home (they found a great little bungalow, by the way). Sharing similar interests in music, movies and technology, Daniel and Bob hit it off and started talking about how technology could radically transform the way real estate is bought and sold. The rest is offMLS history. Daniel lives with his wife, son and cat in Chicago.

Matt Dollinger
Matt is Founder and Chief Solutions Officer of Gearbox Consulting, focusing on providing strategic solutions and business development for brokerages, agent teams and startup technology. By drawing on 12 years of real estate experience in the space, most recently as Head of Industry Relations for Trulia and as V.P. of Strategic Development with @properties in Chicago, Matt is able to bring a unique perspective to real estate and the technology that is empowering its forward movement. Matt’s unique understanding of the challenges both brokers and agents face has lead to speaking engagements across the country as well as serving as advisor to some of the most innovative companies on the market. Outside of work, he and his wife Amanda enjoy spending time with their daughter Danika, two dogs Bode and Drexel, and two horses Cupina and Legolas.
Howard Laubscher

Howard is a brand and digital strategist with more than 10 years of experience at leading agencies in the U.S., working with clients such as Kraft, Samsung, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, and Oracle. In his current role as VP Strategist at Leo Burnett, Howard helped establish Leo’s Participation practice (intentionally involving consumers in a brand’s purpose) and has been a key driver in advancing Leo’s social and digital practices, helping to create ideas that are inherently social in nature. Prior to this, Howard led digital strategy teams at Starcom, winning a number of awards for innovative digital activations. When not building strategies, you can find him building tangible objects in his wood shop or exploring the world.
